St George’s is a new parish in Rugby, but the church has been established for 60 years. It is a modern church with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Not a conventional cruciform church building but typical of a 1960/70’s property with exposed structural steel roof braces in the interior and face finished brickwork interior. The lighting that is typical of this era included cylindrical downlighter fittings that were retro fitted with compact florescent lamps that gave flat and low level of illumination throughout. The new installations comprise of DALI controlled LED projector and circular ceiling fittings that are operated with a Mode Lighting eDin control system. A modular dimmer pack has been integrated with the system that connect to existing stage lighting projectors that are used primarily at Easter services and cast a red glow onto the East Wall shadowing a suspended cross in three positions. The lighting can be controlled via a tablet or smart phone if required and scenes are infinitely variable and programmable with a lap top or PC.
